Overview

When a user tries to mount with SMB volumes for Xinet Contextual Menu (CM) plugin for macOS, they receive an error "Unable to reveal file or folder for the supplied URL as not found on any mounted volume".

Solution

Xinet CM support with SMB mounts was not developed by the Engineering team. SMB file share service is also not documented here in the official docs which confirms that this feature does not exist to be compatible with SMB Volume mounts.

If you take a look at the Managing User Connections with Xinet AFP Service product documentation, you can see that only sharing via AFP is listed.
